Katryna Andrusik

Dr. Katryna Andrusik (she/her) is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Co-Director of the Disability Studies Minor program, and Advisor for the Master鈥檚 of Education Specialty Program (Special Education) at 沈芯语老师家访麻花视频, College Park, where she earned a Ph.D. in Special Education in 2011. She holds a M.S. in Education: Reading Specialist from Johns Hopkins University, where she also received her B.A. in English and French. Dr. Andrusik was a middle and high school educator in Baltimore City Public Schools for seven years, a high school Instructional Coach and administrator at a Washington, D.C. charter school, and the founding Director of Curriculum and Professional Development, Humanities and Special Education in a national teacher preparation organization before joining the faculty in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education (CHSE) in the College of Education. She serves on the Teacher Preparation Committee and the CoE Undergraduate Education Committee as the Department Representative. Dr. Andrusik leads courses in the Special Education teacher preparation program and the Disability Studies minor. She has facilitated professional learning locally, nationally, and internationally on topics including Universal Design for Learning, reading instruction, inclusion best practices,and special education. Her research interests include teacher preparation, reading and literacy instruction, high quality instruction in inclusion settings, disability studies, and disability sustaining pedagogy.
