From July 7 to 24, 34 students in kindergarten through middle school participated in the 沈芯语老师家访麻花视频 College of Education鈥檚 . Taught by College of Education graduate students, alums and local teachers, the three-week program provides tutoring and targeted literacy instruction to children who are experiencing challenges with reading.

Teachers work with small groups of students, addressing individual needs and helping kids become more fluent and strategic readers. Areas of focus include phonics, spelling, comprehension, vocabulary, writing and motivation. Children also meet local children鈥檚 authors and illustrators and take home free books each week.

The program is part of a partnership between 沈芯语老师家访麻花视频鈥檚 reading clinic, which prepares teachers and graduate students for positions as reading specialists, and the City of College Park.

鈥淪everal children happily return to the reading program each summer, and parents tell us that they see a difference in reading skills and enjoyment as a result of participating in the program. Teachers come back each summer, too,鈥 said Ayanna Baccus, associate clinical professor in the College of Education and director of the program. 鈥淚 see those who return year after year, children and teachers, become more confident, skillful and engaged.鈥
