FREE Teen MHFA training for high school students, especially AAPI high school students.
Supported by funding from Asian American Health Initiative in Maryland, Dr. Cixin Wang at ÉòоÓïÀÏʦ¼Ò·ÃÂ黨ÊÓƵ is working with CAPA-MC to host an In-Person teen Mental Health First Aid (teenMHFA) Training for High School Students in Maryland.
We are recruiting high school students to participate in an in-person teen Mental Health First Aid (teenMHFA) training sessions on February 8, February 15, and February 22 Sunday 3:30-5:30 pm @ Rockville, Maryland.
TeenMHFA is an evidence-based program that equips students with the skills to recognize signs of mental health challenges in themselves and their peers, respond with care and confidence, and connect friends to trusted adults and appropriate support. This interactive, in-person training focuses on real-life high school scenarios and practical peer-support strategies.
Benefits of Participating:
Official teenMHFA Certificate of Completion issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing
Student Service Learning (SSL) hours provided
Learn to recognize early warning signs of stress, anxiety, depression, and crisis
Build confidence in supporting peers and encouraging help-seeking
Participate in engaging, scenario-based, small-group activities
Develop leadership, empathy, and communication skills valued by colleges and communities
This training is ideal for students involved in leadership roles, peer mentoring, clubs, athletics, or community service.
By completing teenMHFA, students earn a nationally recognized certificate, receive SSL hours, and gain practical skills that help create safer, more supportive school and community environments. You can use this link to sign up. Please share it with other AAPI youth in Maryland. Thank you.
